The Fight for a Hot Dog Emoji Is Heating Up

Hot dog fans are still waiting for an emoji of their relished food item, and Oscar Mayer wants to do something about it.

On Monday, Unicode released a list of over 250 new pictographs destined to be added to the emoji keyboard. While a wide array of additions are coming to everyone’s smartphones, including the highly anticipated middle finger emoji, that favorite summertime snack is still nowhere to be found.

A popular petition, started by Chicago based drive-in restaurant Superdawg, to add a hot dog emoji (specifically without ketchup) to the keyboard.
