I have a HR Recruiting friend who is currently looking for a Technical Writer. She is in search of potential candidates that are capable of researching, writing, and producing training materials for the heavy duty trucking and agricultural industries.
This position may be offered on a full, part-time, or per-project basis. This individual will write, edit, produce and sometimes deliver training which covers engines, transmissions, braking systems, along with soft skills training such as customer service and basic management principals. Content is gathered through research and interviews, partnering with vendors that supply parts, and by working directly with clients. There may also be an opportunity to write audio and video scripts, as well as coordinating the production process.
The position is planned for the Kansas City, Missouri metro area at an established, but small, family-owned business. While this is a 30-year old training company, it offers a start-up like environment, where its team members are given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. If you know someone who thrives in this type of environment and has a minimum of two years experience writing technical training material, please let me know.
